Rivers State – Governor Nyesom Wike has restated his government’s zero-tolerance stance for armed gangs and criminals in Rivers state.
The fiery and outspoken governor stated that his administration will continue to hunt and neutralise criminals who kidnap and terrorise innocent citizens, especially students.
He gave the assurance during the flag-off ceremony for the construction of the Ahoada campus of the Rivers State University (RSU) on Wednesday, June 2.
Wike said anyone who is guilty of unprovoked violence in the state, irrespective of status or alliance to his government, will definitely face justice.
The governor added that the days of members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who pride themselves as being invincible with spiritual powers against bullets are numbered.
Governor Wike, therefore, called on hoodlums and thugs in the state to repent or be doomed in no time.
“When people say ‘IPOB, they’re carrying juju,’ no problem. That’s what you say. But what’s happening? Are they not dying? Let nobody deceive you with juju.
“Take today, all of you criminals who are here, 2nd of June, 2021, and repent. If you don’t repent, the period has come. You’ll die. Your parents will not bury you. We’ll bury you like vultures. Either your hand will be cut off, or they’ll blow your heads off. Your parents won’t even know you’re dead.”
