Now back to the main topic….does it snow in Nigeria.
Snow has not ever fallen in Nigeria but there has been rarely occurrence of Hailstones in Nigeria. As a significant portion of Nigerians have never seen snow before(many on the other hand have seen it ad nauseam elsewhere in the frigid world), it is very easy to wrongly call hailstones as snow. In fact a lot of Nigerians don’t know the word hail or hailstones or hailstorm but they do know the word snow and ignorantly call hail as snow. This is worth mentioning because some hailstorms cause a buzz and people tend to go to social media describing it as snow. This is going to set you off on a wild goose chase if you go searching the public domain for actual snow falling in Nigeria.
Nigeria geographically falls in the tropical belt which have a climate that is majorly termed as hot and rainy which are not the conditions required for snow to fall.
The tropical regions receives the highest intensity of sunlight so it is therefore impossible for snow to fall in Nigeria
