As we all look forward to the 2019 general elections in Nigeria which is set to be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, we would also love to know where to register for the permanent voters card.

When is INEC going to begin voters card registration ahead of the 2019 General Elections

It was good news for those who are yet to register for the INEC permanent voters card as the electoral body announced that the registration for a new card is going to begin on Thursday, 27th of April 2017, across the 774 local government areas of the federation.

The INEC voters card registration exercise would take place from 9 a.m to 3 p.m on weekdays (Mondays to Fridays), excluding public holidays.

Who is eligible to register for the INEC permanent voters card

• You have to be Nigerian
• You have to be above the ages of 18 years
• If you have not previously registered for the voters card (it is a crime to register twice)
