The Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, earlier today inspected areas affected by flood in Ado-Ekiti and Ikere.
The flood caused by a downpour on Wednesday 28th August 2019, is reported to have destroyed property worth millions of Naira in Ado and Ikere Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Major streets were rendered impassable by the flood which hit such areas as Ureje area, along Polytechnic Road, Boom town, Eminrin and Ijelu villages, among others.
Residents of Ikere Ekiti also felt a dose of the devastation as the flood rendered many homeless while property worth millions of Naira was destroyed by the flood.
The affected areas in Ekiti are: Kajola Adun Ogbon in Oke Osun, Alade filling Station Area in Odo Oja.
The Governor in the early hours of Saturday 31st August, 2019, visited the areas affected by the flood.
Kayode Fayemi in company with the Hon. Commissioner for Environment, went on inspection of flooded areas in Ado Ekiti, Ikere and other places.
