Biafra: Why Igbo governors are cowards – Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, Ejiofor
Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, counsel to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has described some South-East Governors as cowards.
Ejiofor made the remark while noting that the decision of the governors not to support IPOB’s struggle for secession was an act of securing political positions.
The IPOB leader’s counsel, however, warned that the present crop of leaders in the South East will be swept out during the 2019 elections.
IPOB calls on US, UK, EU to intervene in Biafra agitation
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has hit out at governors in the country’s southeast accusing them of being puppets of people belonging to the north.
IPOB spokesman in a statement issued on Monday said the group denies all claims of violence as advanced by the army and the government.
Whiles challenging the authorities to point to a case of lawlessness by the group, Emma Powerful, also called for international intervention in the attacks on pro-Biafra activists.
Biafra: What we are doing to rehabilitate IPOB members – Ebonyi govt
The Ebonyi State Government says it has commenced registration of members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in the state.
Commissioner for Economic Empowerment and Job Creation, Uchenna Orji said the youth ”were misled to join the agitation by the group.”
Speaking in Abakaliki, the state capital, the Commissioner said the exercise was going on simultaneously in the 13 local government areas of the state.
Uchenna noted that the state government would make the members of the secession group economically independent and help in reducing social vices and other forms of criminality in the state.
According to the Commissioner, “These IPOB youths are being registered in the Department of Education and Social Welfare in the LGAs. After the process, the state government will create a programme to train them in their chosen career.
